Mortgage Stats Reveal ELFCU as #1 Credit Union in Indiana

Published: Tuesday, February 23, 2010 7:00 am

Thank you, ELFCU Members, for making our organization the leading mortgage originator among our Indiana credit union competitors.  ACUMA (American Credit Union Mortgage Association) has released figures ranking ELFCU as the 79th largest mortgage originator among credit unions nationwide for 2009 (as of 9/30/09). Per the same report, we originated the second most mortgage loans among Indiana credit unions.

In 2009, credit unions increased their overall share of the mortgage market to more than 5%. This growth makes sense at a time when credit unions are garnering consumer and media attention for the value and service they consistently deliver.

The top 300 mortgage granting credit unions account for slightly more than 75% of credit union first mortgage originations overall. See below for a listing of Indiana’s credit unions in the top 300. Or read the full report from ACUMA’s Pipeline magazine here.

#79 – ELFCU, $177.6 million in originations
